Advanced Optical Systems, Inc. (AOS), a growing Huntsville, AL electro-optical company, is seeking an Optical Scientist. At Advanced Optical Systems, Inc., the focus is pushing state-of-the-art optical technology beyond existing boundaries to solve commercial and military problems. The successful candidate will work within our team specializing in optical signal processing with experts in physical optics, optical engineering, lasers, lens design, opto-mechanics, opto-electronics, electronics, and software.
 

Job Requirements

Candidates should have experience with FPGA firmware development, digital hardware/software design and system modeling/simulation. Candidates must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

1. M.S. degree in optics, physics, or related field is required. A Ph.D. is preferred.
2. A minimum of 6 years experience is required.
3. Demonstrable expertise in one or more of the following areas: opto-mechanical design, infrared imaging systems, product development, manufacturing, laser diodes, video technology
4. Proficiency in Zemax or other lens design software.
5. Experience desired in MATLAB and C/C++.
6. Effective written and communication skills.
7. Security Clearance Eligibility Required.
8. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
